Portland, Maine 🦞
🌊 Radon Awareness in “The Other Portland”! 🏡
We recently traveled to Maine and had a wonderful time exploring Portland! But, of course, you can take the radon professional out of the office, but you can’t take the radon professional out of the person! 😂
On our first morning, I spotted a radon mitigation system on a neighbor’s home. Naturally, I had to look into the local radon levels! The average radon level reported for the Portland/Falmouth area is around 6 pCi/L — above the EPA’s recommended action level of 4.0 pCi/L.
Later, on our way to explore the Old Port, I started noticing mitigation systems everywhere! 👀 So, naturally, I counted how many I could spot on the way there and back.
The final count? 19 mitigation systems! And I’m sure I missed a few along the way!
As a radon professional, it was exciting to see such visible awareness of radon in the community. 💙 It’s a great reminder that radon awareness and testing are important no matter where you call home!
Have you ever noticed how many radon mitigation systems are in your neighborhood? 🏡
