The State of Florida told its own Supreme Court that one of its sentencing laws is unconstitutional. That law is what keeps some people in prison for life.

No court has ruled on it. Not because anybody disagreed, but because every person who raised it so far filed the wrong kind of paperwork, and a court will not reach a question that arrives the wrong way.
