A recent Minnesota Star Tribune article highlighted a new report showing that some major insurers, including UnitedHealth Group and two Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, had some of the highest rates of claim denials among Affordable Care Act health plans in 2023, with insurers denying nearly 1 out of every 5 in-network claims sold on the federal marketplace.

A winter storm is headed our way this weekend. ❄️ The team at Schroeder & Mandel encourages everybody to exercise extra caution and follow these tips while out on the road:

🚘 Turn on your headlights and wear your seatbelt

📵 Put away the distractions and turn your full attention to the road

🌨️ Stay at least 10 car lengths behind snowplows to avoid driving into snow clouds

⚠️ Turn off the cruise control and drive a safe speed for current conditions

While a toast or two can be part of the fun, homeowners should remember that in some states, you could be held responsible if an intoxicated guest leaves your party and causes harm or property damage.

So, make sure you:

🛏️ Call a cab for intoxicated guests or offer a place to sleep at your house.
