These numbers are a sobering reminder of why safety always comes first. 🏍️ Whether you're a seasoned rider or just getting back in the saddle this season, now is a great time to revisit your habits.

Take a refresher course, check your gear and always ride within your limits. Let's make this a summer we all ride home from.

It's just the start of motorcycle season and there's already an alarming statistic.

According to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, there have been 30 motorcycle fatalities so far this year. There were only 13 at this same time last year.

Insurance coverage doesn’t always work the way people expect. ❌

A recent Minnesota Star Tribune article highlighted a new report showing that some major insurers, including UnitedHealth Group and two Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, had some of the highest rates of claim denials among Affordable Care Act health plans in 2023, with insurers denying nearly 1 out of every 5 in-network claims sold on the federal marketplace.

When legitimate care is denied, injured Minnesotans can be left facing delayed treatment, mounting bills and pressure to pay out of pocket—even for in-network care they assumed would be covered.

That’s why having someone in your corner after a serious injury matters. Knowing how to challenge denials and pursue full compensation can help protect both your health and financial future. If you have questions about insurance denials, get in touch with Schroeder & Mandel. We’re on your side.

An ambulance ride can save your life, but it can also come with a shocking bill. 🚑💵

Across the country, states are starting to crack down on exorbitant ambulance charges, especially when patients are taken by out-of-network providers. Even with health insurance, many people are surprised to learn that ground ambulance services often aren’t fully covered, leaving them responsible for thousands of dollars after an emergency.

If you’re injured in a crash or serious accident, unexpected medical bills can add stress at the worst possible time. Understanding your rights—and who may ultimately be responsible for those costs—can make a real difference.

Holiday parties often come with a little extra cheer—sometimes in the form of cocktails and festive drinks. 🥂

While a toast or two can be part of the fun, homeowners should remember that in some states, you could be held responsible if an intoxicated guest leaves your party and causes harm or property damage.

So, make sure you:

🚗 Encourage guests to pick a designated driver.
🥤 Stock plenty of non-alcoholic beverages and serve food.
🛏️ Call a cab for intoxicated guests or offer a place to sleep at your house.
❌ Never allow minors to drink.
🏠 As the host, stay in control by not drinking too much yourself.
