On Monday, October 12th, all Social Security offices will be closed in observance of Indigenous Peoples'/Columbus Day. At this time, online and automated phone services will still be available for use. Tracy Law Firm will retain normal business hours on this date.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day and Columbus Day both fall on the second Monday in October. Columbus Day was established to mark when Christopher Columbus arrived in the Americas on October 12th, 1492. The day became an official holiday in 1937 when President Franklin D. Roosevelt made it a national holiday. Indigenous Peoples’ day became officially recognized in 2021 when President Joe Biden issued the first presidential proclamation. This holiday has roots dating back to the 1990’s when South Dakota became the first state to celebrate Native Americans’ Day rather than Columbus Day.

On Friday, June 19th, Tracy Law Firm and all Social Security offices will be closed in observance of Juneteenth. At this time, automated phone and online services with Social Security will still be available for use if needed.

Juneteenth is a national, federal holiday that commemorates June 19th, 1865 when enslaved individuals in Texas learned they had been freed nearly 2 years after the Emancipation Act. This holiday now stands as a symbol to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth was made a federal holiday in June of 2021 when President Joe Biden signed it into law.

On Monday, May 25th, Tracy Law Firm and all Social Security offices will be closed in observance of Memorial Day. At this time, online and automated phone services with Social Security will still be available for use as needed. In addition, Tracy Law Firm will begin summer hours on Friday, May 22nd. From May 22nd until Labor Day, we will be closing at 12 pm Central Time on Fridays with regular business hours Monday-Thursday.

As we celebrate the beginning of summer, we also want to take time to acknowledge the military personnel who have died in service to our country. Though we remember the sacrifices made everyday, Memorial Day provides us with an extra opportunity to express our appreciation.

On Monday, February 16th, all Social Security offices will be closed in observance of Presidents’ Day. At this time, online and automated phone services will still be available for use if needed.

Presidents’ Day is celebrated annually on the third Monday in February. This holiday was originally established in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington’s birthday. In 1971- under the Uniform Monday Holiday Act- the holiday was changed to Presidents’ Day as it is known as today. This day is now viewed as a day to celebrate all U.S. presidents however, several states still have separate holidays to celebrate the birthdays of Washington, Abraham Lincoln and other notable figures.

On Thursday, January 1st, Tracy Law Firm and all Social Security offices will be closed in observance of New Years Day. Online and automated phone services through Social Security will still be available for use. In addition, Tracy Law Firm will be closing at 12pm Central Time December 31st and will remain closed on Friday, January 2nd.

In addition, Tracy Law Firm will be closing at 12 pm Central Time on December 24th and remain closed Friday, December 26th.

On Tuesday, November 11th, all Social Security offices will be closed in observance of Veterans Day. Online and automated phone services will still be available for use at that time if needed.

Their courage and sacrifice does not go unnoticed and tomorrow especially, we want to acknowledge this.
