25 Years of Remembrance | September 11, 2001

On this 25th anniversary of September 11, we pause to remember and honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost on that tragic day.

We extend our deepest respect to the families and loved ones who continue to carry their loss, and we honor the first responders, firefighters, law enforcement officers, military personnel, and countless others whose courage and sacrifice defined the days that followed.

A quarter century later, the significance of September 11 remains deeply woven into our nation’s history. May we continue to remember those we lost, honor those who served, and carry forward the values of courage, compassion, and unity that emerged in the face of tragedy.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

On behalf of myself and all of us at Shaheen Law Group, we wish to congratulate our client and friend, CJ Goodwin, on his retirement from professional football.

I had the honor of attending his retirement dinner, which was just as extraordinary as his career and his path to success. Having been undrafted out of college, CJ set his mind to carve out his own path. With the help of his family and friends together with the divine intervention of none other than Mel Blount, CJ received an invite to attend the Pittsburgh Steelers training camp. After a short stint with the Steelers, he then signed with the Atlanta Falcons and in fact participated in Super Bowl LI, where he had an exceptional game, including knocking down a critical pass from Tom Brady.

When his time with the Falcons ended, he moved on and subsequently retired from his favorite team . . . the Dallas Cowboys. CJ spent eight (8) years with the Cowboys and has been recognized as one of the premiere special teams’ players in the NFL. During his tenure, he served as team captain to the Cowboys for several seasons.

His career and subsequent retirement are an opportunity to recognize not only his physical talents, but his character as a man. CJ respects his family and friends. He has a strong faith in God. Never has he ever forgotten anyone whose path he has crossed throughout this journey. We are so proud to call him a friend! God bless and Godspeed.
