Established in 1858, the Kane County Bar Association (KCBA) is a professional legal organization. Our membership includes over 1200 attorneys, judges, paralegals and students. The Kane County Bar Association provides educational, social and professional opportunities for attorneys in the 16th Judicial Circuit. From free educational seminars to social events, there are many benefits of membership. In addition, the KCBA also provides back to the Kane County Community a variety services, such as KCBA cares, "Ask a Lawyer" day, and other pro-bono services.

Lawyer in the Lobby provides you with a 15 minute time slot to consult with a lawyer which focuses on civil matters such as Small Claims, Estates/Wills, Foreclosure, and much more.

Visit from 9am to 12pm on Friday at the Kane County Courthouse, located at 100 S Third St., Geneva, IL 60134, to find the right lawyer for your needs.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our 68th Annual Steer Roast at the Elburn Lions Club! KCBA members got together for a fun fall evening full of chats, laughs, and some friendly competition in our Annual Steer Roast Bags Tournament. Big shoutout to our tournament champs, Melissa Kuffel and Chantel Miller and runner-ups, Carolyn & Pete Jansons!

A special thank you to The Shoop Dogs with Judge William Engerman for their wonderful performance and to the CAC for their raffle! We extend a congratulations to the winners: Roman Seckel, Lisa Nyuli, John Kopp and Erika Thomas plus Ed Peterka for the winning guess on how many leaves were in the jar, provided by the KCBA!

Members of the public are encouraged to call the Kane County Bar Association office at (630) 762-1900 for a free consultation with a volunteer attorney.

If the line is busy, please call back. This public information service is a great opportunity to ask questions and find direction for any legal matters you may have.

On October 14th from 12:15pm to 1:15pm at the 3rd Street Courthouse - Room 150, the Women in Law Committee meeting will be taking place where they will be having a discussion of My Own Words by Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Look forward to an engaging conversation about the book, Justice Ginsburg’s career, and her perspectives on women and the legal profession. If you haven’t had a chance to read the book, or simply don’t have time to finish it, please come anyway! Join and share in the discussion.

As part of this meeting, donations will be collected of much-needed items for Mutual Ground. Please consider bringing an item to the meeting. You can visit Mutual Ground’s Wish List page for the most up-to-date list of needed items: https://mutualground.org/inkind-donations.

If you are unable to attend the October meeting, you can still participate in the donation drive by dropping off your donation at the KCBA office anytime during the month of October. Drivers' Privilege Clinic will be held on Wednesday, October 7th from 3pm-5pm at the Kane County Law Library.

The Drivers' Privilege Clinic is hosted on the first Wednesday of every month at the Kane County Law Library to assist members of the public in having driving privileges reinstated.

You MUST have a copy of your Driving Record Abstract to receive help. Visit the Illinois Secretary of State​ to get a copy or go in person to a DMV. This is a walk-in service, no reservations are required.
