After more than two decades of representing individuals and families throughout Northeast Florida, I want to share an important update regarding my practice.

Over the coming months, I will be winding down the litigation practice of The Law Office of Michael Hines, P.A. and transitioning my professional focus to family law mediation. This decision follows many years of thoughtful planning and reflects where I believe I can provide the greatest value to families moving forward—helping them resolve disputes outside of the courtroom in a more constructive and efficient manner.

It has been an honor to advocate for my clients over the years, and I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me during some of the most difficult times in their lives.

As part of this transition:

The office located at 4425 U.S. 1 South will be closing
Litigation matters will be carefully wound down or transitioned as appropriate
My practice will continue under a mediation-focused platform, HinesLaw Mediation

I look forward to continuing to work with attorneys, courts, and families in a new capacity—focused on resolution, efficiency, and practical outcomes.

Established and busy South St. Augustine Law Firm that has an enthusiastic and outgoing work environment that has an immediate opening for a full-time receptionist. Working hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is an in-office position.

Responsibilities:
Welcoming clients, answering phones using a multi-line system, providing responses to client inquiries, answering basic questions over the phone for potential or existing clients to the law firm, scheduling appointments, creating client files, completing intakes, and other assigned tasks as needed. Full-Time Family Law Paralegal

Office of Michael Hines P.A. is a well-established busy small firm located in South St. Augustine, FL. Must have paralegal experience, do not apply unless you have experience. Demonstrated long term employment with previous employers is a big plus. Position is available now with the soon to be former paralegal training her replacement. The primary focus of our practice is Family Law, such as, divorce, paternity, modifications, contempt and child issues. Our secondary practice areas are criminal and probate. Our firm handles all kinds of Family Law matters and maintains a high case load.
This position requires applicant to be punctual, self-motivated, multi-task oriented, organized, and professional at all times, with excellent communication skills. The hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Responsibilities include: assisting receptionist in answering multiple telephone lines, new client intake, filing all pleadings on the Florida e-filing portal, communicating with clients, following up with clients on outstanding matters, setting consultations, communications with the judicial assistants and court reporters; reviewing discovery documents provided by clients and opposing counsel; ability to learn and use programs such as Mycase, Dropbox, Prodoc, maintaining up-to-date case files on all cases; downloading, printing and scanning documents; and understanding and explaining the consultation fees and retainer fees to prospective clients. Have to be eligible to become a notary.

Must have experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel. QuickBooks experience is helpful.
