He graduated from Punahou School and received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2003. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2007 after graduating from the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Choy started out working for the Sacramento County Public Defender’s office in their mental health unit. He spent his time

traveling to the various mental health hospitals to help protect the patients’ rights. Choy started his own law practice, specializing in criminal law and family law. After a year on his own, Mr. Choy started representing life term inmates at their parole consideration hearing. Choy handles a variety of criminal cases from first time DUIs to potential three strikers. He still represents life term inmates ate their parole consideration hearings as well as representing individuals with a range of family law issues. Choy is a member of the Sacramento County Bar Association and the Asian Bar Association of Sacramento.
