Associate Immigration Attorney
Martinez Law Group has an immediate opening in Sacramento, CA. We are looking for an Associate Immigration Attorney to review immigration applications/packets and make any necessary adjustments. Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions.
The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent writing and communication skills and strong organizational skills. The applicant must demonstrate dedication to working as a part of a team and to the immigrant community we serve.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Prepare and submitting legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases
Correspond and/or meet with clients to gather documents and information and to guide them through various visa processes.
Use case management system/database, various firm systems, and project management skills to monitor case milestones, follow up with clients, and meet both legal and client-relations deadlines.
Exercise meticulous attention to detail to produce error-free forms, correspondence, and related legal work product.
Prepare and represent clients at government interviews.
Other tasks as required to meet client, Managing Attorney, and firm needs.
Advising and representing clients in courts, before government agencies, or in private legal matters
Holding meetings with clients in order to discuss details of a case
Conducting research and analysis of legal problems
Analyzing the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents
Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for clients
Filing briefs and other legal writings on behalf of clients
Preparing and filing legal documents
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Graduate of an accredited institution by the American Bar Association (ABA) with a Juris Doctor (J.D.); degree completed with a specialization in corporate law or any related field required
Barred in a least 1 State
Bilingual in Spanish (Preferred)
Immigration Experience 1-3 yrs
Effective oral and written communication skills with knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation usage
Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
Excellent organizational skills with an eye for details
