Sacramento Pride is here! This weekend, June 8 and 9, Capitol Mall will be filled with fabulousness! March with SacLegal in Sunday's parade on Sunday, June 9 at 11:00 am. Tickets to the festival are available at https://sacramentopride.org/ however tickets are not required for the march or to be a spectator! SacLegal will have a marching contingent - please join us before 11 (10:30ish; allow for time to park and find our group).
Start Location: Starting at Southside Park (near 8th & T street)
End Location: State Capitol and festival entrance

Join SacLegal for our Monthly Mixer on Thursday, October 20 from 5-7pm at the SacYard Community Tap House in East Sacramento, 1725 33rd St, Sacramento, CA

This mixer is primarily geared toward bringing together all of this year's participants in our 2022-2023 mentorship program. Come meet your mentors and mentees, as well as others in the program, to kick off the cycle!

We also invite all LGBTQ+/Ally students, attorneys, judges, and others in the legal community to come enjoy as well.

SacLegal Congratulates Former Board Member
Michael Rhoads on his 40 Under 40 Award!

This Thursday, July 28, at the Lavender Law Conference, former SacLegal Co-Chair Michael Rhoads will be honored as one of the 40 Best LGBTQ+ Lawyers Under 40! {{https://lgbtqbar.org/programs/awards/best-lgbtq-lawyers-under-40/}} SacLegal proudly congratulates Michael on this well deserved national recognition and thanks him for his prior service on the board and his ongoing service to the LGBTQ+ legal community.

For those attending Lavender Law, don't miss the Awards Luncheon on Thursday, July 28 from 12:30 - 2:00 PM!

Michael (he/him) served on the SacLegal board from 2018 to 2021, including as co-chair in 2021, and he led the effort to develop the National LGBTQ+ Bar's inaugural 2022 LGBTQ+ Professionals Survey. Michael is a chambers attorney for Chief Justice Cantil-Sakauye at the California Supreme Court. He has served as the chair of the Court’s Equity and Inclusion Committee, and has facilitated discussions through the Court’s LGBTQ+ Staff and Allies group. He was appointed to the California State Bar’s Council on Access and Fairness in 2020 and will serve as vice-chair for 2022-2023. He previously worked for Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr., the California Attorney General’s Office, and the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office. He is a moot court coach at UC Hastings College of the Law, and has been an adjunct professor at UC Hastings, the University of San Diego Law School, and McGeorge School of Law.
