Born and raised right here in Sacramento, Ray went on to become one of the most influential designers of the 20th century, creating work that continues to shape the way we experience art, design, and everyday life.

And now, a piece of her legacy is coming home to O Street.

A new chapter for O Street starts here.📍

Today, CADA is proud to officially launch Envision O Street: a vision for a more vibrant, connected, and welcoming O Street corridor.

Envision O Street is about creating a place where people can live, work, gather, explore, and feel a genuine sense of belonging. A place shaped by the character of the neighborhood and the people who call Sacramento home.

This initiative is supported by 4 main pillars: The Ray Eames “Totem” Installation, murals from local artists, streetscape and infrastructure improvements, and the “Mandala” Creative Crosswalk.

Over the next couple of weeks we will be teaming up with the Yellow Brick Group to give you a closer look at each pillar of this project. Including an invitation to the unveiling of the Ray Eames “Totem” Installation!

Here’s what you need to know:

📅 Lottery Waitlist Application window: Apply September 1–10
📝 Quick entry: Just self-report your income and household size
🎲 Randomized results by September 30
🔑 Move-ins expected early 2027!

There’s still time, but the window closes soon. After the lottery waitlist application closes, all eligible entries will be entered into a randomized lottery to establish a waitlist order.

Rental fees are based on the days, times, and how often you use the space, so it’s flexible for your vision. 🙌

Earlier today, our community came together for the Bien Juntitos Gala Watch Party, and the room was full of love for nuestros mayores (our elders).
Seeing neighbors, families, and friends show up to honor the Manitos? That’s what community is all about.

We’re proud to have sponsored this celebration of the Bien Juntitos project, a beautiful multimedia tribute featuring film, a book, poetry, music, and stories that lift up the elders who shaped who we are.

Their wisdom deserves the spotlight. 🎬📖

A huge shoutout to Janine Mapurunga, social practice artist and the heart behind this incredible project! 🙌 When Janine’s grandmother passed away during filming, the project took a profound turn.
