The ongoing issue with stolen cars and residential vehicle burglaries is, well, ongoing. Please remove all valuables and not so valuables from your vehicle every time you exit your vehicle. Cars make incredibly poor safes! When you exit your vehicle be sure you lock it. Every time, even for a minute.

Thanks to Pattie for the following Commend-A-Cop submission thanking officers T. Wright and B. Winston:

On November 11 2022, Police were called for assistance at approximately 11 a.m. The above officers responded to assist with gaining access to this apartment. Resident is a participant of Beacon of Life in Oceanport NJ. Participant was in need of emergency care. Beacon of Life team, (Director of Clinical Services, Social Worker and Transportation Supervisor) went to the residence and could not get the resident to open the door. Police responded. We eventually were able to see resident through the window and he did open the door for the police and Beacon of Life team. Resident was found to be malnourished, extremely low blood pressure, rapid pulse and difficulty breathing. Resident was reluctant to go to the hospital. The officers who responded, were calming, professional, caring and patient. They spoke with the resident with compassion and respect. They were both a catalyst in helping to get the resident the care that he needed. As a nurse with years of ER experience and Director of emergency services, I was truly impressed. As a person, proud to have family members in multiple branches of law enforcement, I am extremely grateful. Please extend our thanks from Beacon of Life in Oceanport, for not only what they did that day, but for what they continue to do each and every day.

Packages have a funny way of growing legs this time of year. Don't leave your deliveries on your porch! Ask for signature required deliveries, have them held at the facility for pick up or deliver them to a friend or family member who is home during the day! Don't let thieves run off with your packages!
