Most people don't realize that some of the things families commonly do after a loved one passes away can actually be illegal.

🚫 Using a deceased person's debit or credit card

🚫 Taking jewelry because "Mom wanted me to have it"

🚫 Hiding a will that doesn't benefit you

🚫 Selling a house before receiving legal authority

🚫 Assuming a will avoids probate

These mistakes can lead to family disputes, court problems, and unnecessary legal headaches.

Most people think their Will controls everything when they pass away.

It doesn't.

In fact, a single beneficiary designation, joint account, trust, or Lady Bird Deed can completely override what your Will says.

That's why estate planning isn't just about having documents—it's about making sure all the pieces work together.

In this video, I break down some of the most common estate planning coordination mistakes that can lead to family disputes, unintended inheritances, and costly problems after death.

The question isn't whether you have an estate plan.

The question is whether your estate plan is coordinated.

📞 If you'd like to review your estate plan and make sure everything is working together the way you intend, contact The Probate Pro at (833) PROBATE today.

🚨 Signature Myth Busted 🚨

Have you ever been told that legal documents must be signed in blue or black ink?

Not necessarily.

In most situations, there is no law requiring a specific ink color. Your signature can be written in different colors, and in some cases, a thumbprint or simple mark may be accepted as well.

It's one of those legal myths that has been repeated so often that people assume it's true.

The next time someone tells you your signature isn't valid because it isn't blue or black, you may want to ask where they heard that.

What legal myths have you heard over the years?

⚠️ Waiting Could Cost You Your Inheritance

If a trustee, executor, conservator, guardian, or personal representative has taken money, hidden information, failed to provide transparency, or violated their legal obligations, every day matters.

The longer you wait, the harder it can become to trace assets, recover money, challenge transactions, and protect your inheritance.

Money gets moved.
Documents disappear.
Stories change.

If something feels wrong, don't assume it will fix itself.

Most families don’t realize this until too late…

The estranged child.
The “black sheep.”
The child who never called or helped.

Without an estate plan, they will inherit the SAME as the child who showed up every single day.

And in blended families, the order of death can completely change which side of the family inherits.

The law does not automatically follow what feels “fair.”

That’s why proper estate planning matters.

📞 If you want your wishes—not the state—to decide who inherits, it may be time to create an estate plan.

“Let’s throw some asphalt in the hole… the citizens will flatten it out.” 😂🚧

So now every driver that hits it sounds like:
THUD THUD THUD💥

If I were president, using my car as paving equipment would become federally illegal immediately 😭🚗

Where should probate be opened after someone dies? The answer often comes down to one critical legal concept: domicile.

In this video, probate attorney Darren Findling explains how courts determine domicile, why the death certificate matters, and what happens when someone owns homes in multiple states like Michigan and Florida.

Learn:
✔ What domicile means in probate law
✔ Why the death certificate can impact probate jurisdiction
✔ What happens if someone dies in a different state
✔ When probate can be opened outside the domicile state

Families are often surprised to learn that where someone dies is not always what controls probate and one incorrect detail on a death certificate can create major legal issues.

If you have questions about probate, estate administration, or trust matters, The Probate Pro can help.

Would you trust AI to decide your court case? 🤖⚖️

It sounds like science fiction… until you realize how fast artificial intelligence is changing the world around us.

Would that make the justice system MORE fair… or completely terrifying?

As AI continues to evolve, conversations about the future of jury trials, legal technology, and algorithmic decision-making are no longer hypothetical.

Could AI eventually assist juries? Replace them? Or should the human element of justice never disappear?

👇 We want to hear your opinion:
Would YOU trust AI with your verdict?
