The narcissistic ex operates with a completely rigged scoreboard.
If the business succeeded, it was because of them. If it failed, you ruined it. If the children are doing well, their parenting deserves the credit. If the children are struggling, you caused the damage. If they win in court, justice prevailed. If they lose, the judge was biased, the lawyers were corrupt, and everyone conspired against them.
Notice who never appears in the blame column.
Them.
Their logic is built around one conclusion that can never be challenged: everything good proves how exceptional they are, and everything bad proves how terrible you are.
Stop wasting your life trying to get fairness from a system designed inside their head to guarantee their victory.
You cannot win their scoreboard because they control the rules, keep the score, and move the goalposts whenever necessary.
So quit playing.
Focus on your conduct. Build your life. Be an exceptional parent. Let the evidence accumulate over time.
Reality doesn't need their agreement to remain reality.
