I’m being asked by potential clients (and I’m receiving aggressive complaints from law firms), why The Kaplan Firm is engaged in attorney fee reform and has lowered all motor vehicle attorney fees (not products cases like defective air bags or tires) from 33 1/3% to 25% of your verdict or settlement.
Here’s my answer as to 25% not 33 1/3 %. Motor Vehicle fees:
1. First and foremost, it’s fair and The Kaplan Firm is financially very successful. We can afford for you to make an extra 8% from your settlement. After all, you or your loved one was the person who was injured and representing you is our privilege not our right.
2. The Kaplan Firm maximizes it’s cases. Our 25% fee is solid and strong. We’re good. We are able to take a lower fee because we believe we get a higher result.
3. Medical expenses for my clients have gone through the roof. By taking less it’s easier for me to very aggressively negotiate medical bills. The result is that The Kaplan Firm’s clients—again—receive a larger percentage of their verdict and/or settlement.
4. Fourth and finally, I have watched fees climb to 40% from many firms. Their ads and billboards are great. Then they turn your case over to a new paralegal or 4th year lawyer. The Kaplan Firm has been doing this for over 30 years, we have participated in over $250,000,000.00 million in verdicts and settlements. We have represented over 12,000 people.
The Kaplan Firm can lower its fees because we handle a smaller number of cases and we maximize the results.
I hope this explains why The Kaplan Firm charges less than the vast majority of Georgia personal injury firms who handle motor vehicle accident cases.
