Yuba Sutter Bar Association, Sutter County judges and community groups hosted a unique event at the Yuba City courthouse. Gridley resident 103 year old Jim Tanimoto told the story of his brother Jack, after a viewing of his documentary. Then a court drama recalled Fred Korematsu's three cases - in 1942, 1944 and in the 1980s where his misdemeanor conviction for avoiding internment in the camps was vacated. High schoolers were all the lawyers, and actual Sutter judges made the historic rulings. Aiden wants to be a lawyer. Sutter County proclamation of May as Asian American History Month followed that afternoon.
