FROM A CONVERSATION WITH MY DAUGHTER ABOUT THE STATE OF OUR COUNTRY
Daughter: "I worry about the future. How worried are you?"
ME: "I am very worried. They say that every election is the most crucial ever, but the upcoming one truly is. It is becoming a choice not between Trump and Harris, but between traditional American values and Progressive future imposed values.
"One side stands for security, reasonable tax rates, a growing economy, limited and responsible regulation, a healthcare marketplace, security at the border, lower crime and criminal accountability, freedom of speech, respect for the Constitution and federalism, and strength in diplomacy backed by a strong military, all values associated with our past heritage as a country.
"The other side represents progressive future values. They truly believe that their views on what's best for society are superior to yours and mine. The see America for its horrible slave-holding past, for its inequality in outcome, for its lack of respect for the climate, and for its alleged attack on a woman's right to control her body.
---The want to spend America into bankruptcy by creating forever government handouts creating a society where all must depend on the government for a living. They want to tax the wealthy which always gets defined and pushed down to the middle class carrying the load thanks to the tax breaks they give to their billionaire supporters- our oligarchy.
---They believe the government is just better at making decisions in your life that you can make. So they want to tell you what kind of car you drive, what kind of appliances you can use in your house, how much water and power you can use, and what kind of food you can eat, among many other intrusions into your life.
---They want to eliminate all private medical insurance and implement Medicare-for-All. In other countries, you get to stand in line and wait your turn for treatment as no one wants to be in the medical field and there are shortages of providers. They get to decide who gets treated, so if you are at the end of your life with serious issues, you don't get help. You die. Both of my daughters who are about to turn 40 would have died under a Medicare-for-All system as they would not have gotten the special treatment private insurance provided.
---They challenge conservatives for wanting to eliminate a woman's right to control her body. That's just not true. Each state has the right to govern that decision now. Each state gets to decide at what point during pregnancy does the living baby fetus' right to LIFE (a 14th amendment protected right) begin to supersede the mother's right to control her body and destroy that LIFE. There are more women voters than men. They can and should have the ability to control this balancing of interests and we see it happening throughout the country In some states, that right will be protected up to the moment of birth. In others, it will be more restricted. But the argument that the conservatives desire to end that right is flatly wrong, and electors who vote solely on that issue are cutting off their nose to spite their face. Our country's very existence is at issue.
---They are the ones who want to rig future elections. After allowing 15 million undocumented immigrants into the country, they want to gain control of Congress and the Presidency to grant them all the right to vote. They want to add liberal DC and Puerto Rico as states to give them four more Senators. If given the opportunity, they'll kill the filibuster and pass a comprehensive 'election law' that will open the floodgates for ballot harvesting and other election interfering activity. It will kill the two-party system. And to make sure they keep control, they'll expand the Supreme Court to appoint a majority of similarly progressive justices who will uphold their overreach of power.
---They believe our free market economic system is bad and takes advantage of the poor, helpless, needy, and those too lazy to work. They believe in a socialistic economic system. They won't call it that; they'll have a fancy name with 'democratic' in it, but that's what it is when the government becomes your primary provider. And once it's in, you can't get rid of it. As Stalin I believe once said (or repeated): "It doesn't matter who votes; it only matters who counts." Check out Venezuela.
"I could go on, but the point is that this election is about traditional American values versus Progressive future values, not Trump versus Harris. Yea, I'm worried about our future."
There are those who will vote for Kamala due largely to her race and gender and their belief that they are "open-minded" by recognizing these firsts. That's an ill-advised, naive viewpoint if you can't recognize the serious fork in the road we face in this next election.
There are those who simply can't stand Trump and his bravado. I totally understand. If you examine pre-pandemic America before and after Trump's election, he brought us a thriving economy, strong standing in the world, no wars, a secure border and a handle on crime. His record was strong and he was heading for a landslide reelection until the pandemic hit. He erred in criticizing Gov. Kemp. It was not error to criticize Raffensperger. On another date, I can fill you in on ALL the serious concerns which arose from the 2020 election backed by fully admissible evidence in a court of law. But Brad could see no fault in his election supervising and simply wouldn't investigate or audit where the problems truly existed. I'm not saying it would have made a difference. There was smoke; we'll never know if there was fire.
To those who dislike Trump, I remind you of two important things. First, this election is about choosing your future America, traditional or progressive. Look at progressive California or New York or the big cities. Is that what you want to have for all of America? I hope not. Second, if you still can't find yourself checking your ballot for Trump, remember this: you are not voting for Trump, you are voting for 16 conservative "electors" who are simply pledged to Trump, not bound endlessly. These are people many of you know or at least have heard of. Good, Georgia citizens who care about our country, our state, their families and you. That's who you are legally voting for, so maybe that will help you get over the Trump problem.
If you like America they way it has been before the current administration, if you like what I call American traditional values, then I HOPE YOU WILL SPREAD THIS MESSAGE to every one you know, especially those who haven't decided which way they are going to vote.
I told my daughter the same thing: get out there and let your generation know how important this election is. I'm 67. If an electoral majority of Americans are naive enough to elect two far left progressives to the two highest offices in our land, we deserve the disaster we will face. It will effect me greatly and I'll do my best to sludge through it to leave my kids the resources to be part of the oligarchy elitist class that will come about when the socialist economy is fully in place. Everyone else, just like in other socialist countries, will suffer. But my time is limited. I'll be very sad and worried for my children and for your grandchildren. You should be as well.
