And from DHL:

Dear Valued Customer,

Against the backdrop of the global Covid-19 outbreak, DHL Express is continuously adapting to mitigate potential impacts for you and your customers.

With this letter we want to share with you some of our main actions we are taking to ensure the safety of our customers, your customers and our employees during the COVID-19 outbreak.

In the background we are working on mobilizing our business continuity plans, monitoring and responding to local conditions. DHL Express is maintaining delivery services around the world. To help you stay up to date on our operations in impacted countries, click here.

In addition, you can read more information about how we are responding to the situation here.

THE SAFETY OF OUR CUSTOMERS: Non-Contact Deliveries

To assist our customers who do not wish to sign on scanners or on paper due to social distancing, beginning Monday March 23rd, we will temporarily enable the Signature Release option for all business-to-consumer (B2C) shipments on our On Demand Delivery platform. Receivers whose shippers already permit Signature Release will continue to receive the same delivery experience they’ve always had.

Please note the following important rules we always follow for Signature Release:

Shipments keep the signature requirement, unless the receiver authorizes release using On Demand Delivery.
DHL stores an electronic record of the release authorization, including name, date and time.
Signature Release does not mean DHL will “just leave it.” The receiver must authorize the release using On Demand Delivery. If there is no release authorization, we will always attempt to get a signature.
In cases where the receiver does not choose Signature Release prior to delivery, but still does not want to sign on the scanner, our couriers will temporarily offer a non-contact alternative.
Countries where for operational, cultural or security reasons Signature Release is not offered, are not included in the temporary directive*.

It is more important than ever that we have accurate mobile phone and email details of your customers. Without mobile phone or email we cannot provide your customers with access to On Demand Delivery. In addition, always check that your international customers can receive DHL parcels at this time.

OTHER ON DEMAND DELIVERY CHANGES

We will change other delivery options available as required by each country. For instance, in those countries where retail behavior has been restricted, our partner service points may close temporarily. These changes will be reflected in the options we present to your customers until daily life normalizes.

THE SAFETY OF OUR EMPLOYEES

In line with our “Safety First” principle, we are following the guidelines laid down by the dedicated COVID-19 task force of our parent company, Deutsche Post DHL Group. This includes making sure that our country organizations operate in accordance with the protocols of official authorities, both international organizations and local health authority advisories, whichever sets the strictest rules.

Our couriers are taking the utmost care to keep themselves and their vehicles clean and sanitary. Hands and scanners are being sanitized after every pickup or delivery. Where local authorities have ordered it, gloves and masks are to be worn.

To protect our employees, we have issued a set of simple guidelines relating to social distancing and hygiene, as well as HR procedures for quarantine and sick leave. We also regularly update our employees on the changing situation via internal media and our local management teams.

DHL Express will continue to respond constructively to the needs of our customers and employees, and will continue to enhance our processes as the situation develops, in accordance with guidelines from global and local authorities.

Thank you for your trust and cooperation.

Regards,

DHL Express

This from Federal Express:

Suspension of Money Back Guarantee
As the impact from COVID-19 continues to spread across the globe, local, state, and national governments are issuing work and travel restrictions on a daily basis which are impacting our ability to meet our high standards consistently. As a result, we will be suspending our money-back guarantee for all FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, FedEx Freight and FedEx Office services effective immediately until further notice.

As an essential transportation service provider, we will continue operating as government restrictions and regulations allow. We recognize and appreciate the crucial role we play in the global supply chain and connecting the world during this critical time, and we remain focused on serving our customers and providing relief supplies to areas that need it most.

UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE

March 22, 2020

To Whom It May Concern,

This letter is to provide information regarding the functions being performed by the mailing and printing industry in support of the essential government services being provided by the United States Postal Service to the American people.

The Postal Service's provision of postal services throughout the United States is not affected by State and local government actions that are restricting commercial and personal activities in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Postal Service is an entity of the Federal Government, and the provision of postal services to the American people is designated as an essential function under federal law during times of emergency. The postal system is used to deliver, among other things, important governmental information and benefits, mail that is essential to the functioning of our economy, elections materials, and packages containing vital necessities, including medicines and other goods, and is a part of the nation's critical infrastructure.

Postal and shipping workers, including those in the private sector, are also considered essential critical infrastructure workers under recent guidance issued by the Department of Homeland Security. White House and CDC guidance have also stated that such industries have a special responsibility to maintain normal work schedules.

The functioning of the postal system depends critically on the mailing and printing industry. Members of the mailing and printing industry work with the public and private sector to create, print, and enter essential mail into the postal system. The industry also serves a vital role in ensuring that packages are able to be efficiently shipped from sender to recipient.

Therefore, the Postal Service considers that the continued operations of the mailing and printing industry in enabling the delivery of critical mail and packages are vital to the Postal Service's continued performance of its essential functions.

To our loyal customers, we are considered an "Essential Business" and will remain open during this rough period. Thank you for your support.

COVID-19 is having a dramatic impact on our lives, businesses, and on supply chains.

I want to share an update on what UPS is doing to keep our customers and our people safe while continuing to deliver around the world.

UPS is following the guidance of global health experts at the World Health Organization (WHO) and U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) on preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We are reminding our employees about frequent hand washing, and we are regularly cleaning and disinfecting our facilities and equipment. Importantly, we are asking that our drivers, pilots, and other employees stay home from work if they feel sick.

Many people are asking the same question: is it safe to receive and handle a shipment? The WHO and CDC have stated that the likelihood of catching the COVID-19 virus by touching cardboard or other shipping containers is low.

From the outset, UPS has maintained delivery services except where limited by government restrictions. We have also worked in partnership with governments around the world to obtain exceptions that allow our shipments to continue in restricted areas.

UPS has long been a trusted partner in communities around the world. As with other global humanitarian crisis events, we are helping with relief related to COVID-19 and will continue to seek opportunities to assist our communities in need.

As this situation is evolving rapidly, we have created a web page with information on how UPS is responding to COVID-19 and tools you can use during this time.

UPS’s network planning and operations teams are experienced with adapting to changing conditions, and are developing contingency plans to address potential sources of disruption in our air and ground networks.

Our teams are working to continue to serve the supply chain needs of businesses during this time, while keeping our employees and customers safe.

Thank you for trusting us with your business.

Our family at "The Mail Shop etc." wants you to know that although we believe the probability of exposure to the Covid-19 virus is minimal, we are aware of your concerns. So here are a couple of steps we are taking to mitigate your exposure while visiting our store. We are:
1. Regularly sanitizing our entry door handles.
2. Sanitizing the keyboards and mouse at our computer rental stations.
3. All surfaces in our public restroom are being wiped down after every use.
4. Customer service counters are wiped down after every rush.
5. We are (as best we can) maintaining a safe space to help buffer any exposure.

It is our firm belief that while this virus has been overplayed in the media it is in our best interest to honor your concerns.

We hope to see you soon.

We are open and operating per normal. Be safe out there.

THIS JUST IN FROM FEDERAL EXPRESS:

"Safety Above All" is something we take incredibly seriously at FedEx. We are listening to recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) as we strive to help protect our customers and our team members.

We are giving our team members facts about COVID-19 and reminding them to follow simple, but effective steps to keep them safe such as frequent handwashing. We are disinfecting our facilities and equipment as appropriate. And as always, we are encouraging our team members to take any signs of illness seriously and seek medical attention as needed.

In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, you may have wondered, “Is that package safe to touch?” The WHO has answered that question for us. They’ve made it clear that it is safe to handle a package, even if it comes from a place where the virus has been reported.

As with prior disaster-related situations around the globe, we quickly jumped in to help with relief efforts as the outbreak began, working with humanitarian aid organizations to deliver critical supplies such as masks and disposable medical gloves. I am so proud to be part of a team that is always ready to extend a helping hand to communities in need.

We recognize and appreciate the critical role we play in the global supply chain and your business. We are currently implementing our contingency plans designed to help us continue to operate and limit any impact to your business– all while keeping safety at the forefront.

With new restrictions and limitations coming out daily to help contain the spread of the virus, we’ve created a site dedicated to the latest information on how we’re responding to this very dynamic situation. Thank you for putting your trust in us, and we remain focused on serving you.

To our dropoff customers. Before you become upset with us about why we are asking you to wait in line and answer some questions about your package. Think about how it appears to us from this side of the counter when you wish to drop and run. It can be very disconcerting as we are the responsible party should anything happen to a driver, sort facility personnel or a pilot as a result of your not telling us what you're dropping off. Be patient, be considerate of others and most of all be nice. We are providing you a courtesy that you need.
