What’s the purpose of a v***r barrier under your home?

There are actually two important barriers you may notice underneath a manufactured home!

The first is the belly wrap underneath the home itself, which helps protect the insulation and underside of the home from moisture, pests, and the elements.

The second is the ground v***r barrier you see pictured here. This heavy plastic is laid directly over the ground beneath the home to help reduce moisture coming up from the soil and entering the crawlspace.

An added bonus? It also creates a much cleaner, neater area underneath the home for future inspections, maintenance, or repairs!

It may not be something you see once your home is complete, but details like these play an important role in protecting your home for years to come.
