Thank you to Jason Johnson and Pct. 2 Constable’s Deputies for protecting a child from a dangerous parent, after the child was taken in violation of court orders. I appreciate you taking the matter of immediate danger seriously, speaking to me before 6:00am, and not brushing it off as a ‘civil matter’. I am thankful the person was taken into custody peacefully and charged with a State Jail Felony for Interference with Child Custody, the child was returned to my Client safely and no one was harmed.

We received notification from the Dallas County District Courts that exchange of children is considered essential travel. If the other parent is out of state, I believe the court would consider all factors. I encourage all my clients to work together during this time of uncertainty as the timeline of this pandemic is unknown. My office is open and I’m available for you. 972-722-0529

I have received numerous emails and phone calls on this. Dallas County and Collin County have, thankfully, now made announcements to clarify. I saw posts last night on my attorney group pages where lawyers were being completely hateful to each other over this. Let’s try to be kind today. Everyone is dealing with so much behind the scenes. I would hope the professionals would set the example of how to treat each other with respect, especially if we want our clients to try to co-parent.

I would like to spread some positivity. It’s been a difficult week, but I am happy to report that I finally bought a parking lot! It’s something I have said I should have done years ago.
