🔔 NEW Indiana Deer Hunting Laws Took Effect July 1, 2025 🔔
At Outlaw Services, we don’t just defend your rights—we help you stay informed.

Indiana made major changes to deer hunting regulations, and it's important for every hunter to know the law before heading into the woods this season:

🦌 Deer License Bundle Updated
→ Now valid for 1 antlered + 2 antlerless deer. No more "any combination."

🦌 New Antlerless Deer Limit
→ Statewide cap of 6 antlerless deer per season, but county-specific limits still apply.

🏹 Crossbows Simplified
→ Covered under the standard archery license—no separate crossbow permit needed.

🔫 Centerfire Rifles Now Allowed on Public Lands (SB 280)
→ Starting this season, centerfire rifles can legally be used on private or public hunting grounds. The rifle must be chambered for a centerfire rifle cartridge that fires a bullet that is at least five and fifty-six hundredths (5.56) of a millimeter in diameter or larger. No more case length restrictions. A hunter may not possess more than ten (10) cartridges for the rifle while hunting deer

⚖️ Know the rules. Follow them. Avoid legal trouble.

If you or someone you know ends up facing a hunting or firearm-related charge, our experienced defense team is here to help.

👔 Court Isn’t a Fashion Show—But You Still Need to Dress the Part

We get it—you probably didn’t wake up thinking, “Can’t wait to plan my courtroom outfit today!”
But whether you’re there for a hearing or trial, what you wear does matter (sorry, Crocs lovers).

Here’s your not-so-fashionista guide to courtroom style:

🚫 No pajamas. Yes, it’s early. No, the judge doesn’t care.
🚫 No graphic tees (especially ones that say things like "Thug Life" or "Free Until Proven Guilty").
🚫 No sunglasses indoors—unless you’re starring in Law & Order: Hangover Unit.

✅ Dress like you're meeting your grandma AND applying for a job—at the same time.
✅ Clean, ironed, and put-together beats flashy and loud every time.
✅ When in doubt, ask yourself: “Would I wear this to a wedding where the bride is a judge?”

Bottom line: You don’t need a designer suit, but you do need to show respect. The court notices—and so does the outcome.

Need help beyond wardrobe tips? That’s what we’re here for.

It has been a very busy start to the year. As of January 24th, our office has assisted with obtaining the expungement of over 30 cases for our clients. That is countless charges completely erased from our clients records. As I love to say, “as if it never happened.”

With the changes to our Indiana Expungement Statute, any case dismissed after an arrest date or charge date of June 30, 2022, must be immediately expunged.

We will assist you with this. It is one of the most rewarding aspects of our office.

Next week our office has the opportunity to attend the National Trial Lawyers Summit in Miami, Florida to gain more tips, tricks and insights into becoming the best office we can be.

🚔‼️🚔‼️Electric Forest Weekend🚔‼️🚔‼️

Reminder of the heavy police presence on the roadways this weekend, especially US 30 and US 31.

Anyone headed out for the weekend with a packed vehicle is most likely to get stopped for a search.

Last year alone, over 170 drug charges resulted from this weekend patrol.

🔴Be vigilant

🔵Be smart

The American Bar Association (ABA) recently endorsed alternative attorney licensing pathways which do not involve taking the bar exam. For the previous 103 years, the ABA supported the use of bar exams for lawyer licensing.

This practice follows what Oregon and Washington have already adopted, in that they offer an apprenticeship pathway and a skills coursework option to bypass the bar exam.

The American Bar Association on Friday endorsed alternative attorney licensing pathways that don’t involve the bar exam, marking a major shift in ABA's stance on admission to practice law.

On March 12, 2024, the Indiana Court of Appeals issued another devastating blow to the illegality of ma*****na.

In Easler v. State, an appeal from a Hendricks Superior Court case,
where Mr. Easler was convicted of possession of ma*****na as a Class B Misdemeanor, appealed the conviction based on the State failing to present sufficient evidence that the discovered substance contained the requisite amount of THC to qualify as ma*****na.

The difference between a legal substance, such as h**p, and illegal ma*****na is determined by the concentration of delta-9-THC in a particular substance: to be illegal, the concentration of delta-9-THC must be more than 0.3%. Toledo Rojo v. State, 202 N.E.3d 1085, 1088 (Ind. Ct. App. 2022).
The State is required to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that a substance is ma*****na by proving that the substance’s delta-9-THC concentration exceeds 0.3% on a dry weight basis.
Fritz v. State, 223 N.E.3d 265, 277 (Ind. Ct. App. 2023).
The opinion of a police officer, without more, is no longer enough to prove that a substance is ma*****na. Even a defendant’s admission that he had W**D, is not enough, because it is no longer clear beyond a reasonable doubt whether ‘weed’ excludes legal products.

To say it bluntly, if you want a grassroots movement on the legalization of ma*****na, start setting ma*****na cases for trial.
Force the State of Indiana to send the alleged illegal substance
to the labs, waste state resources and time, and have a jury of your peers decide.

‼️OFFICE HOURS‼️

Our posted hours are 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Fridays.

No, this is not the only time we are working. This is just the bare minimum of how much time we want to spend in the office. Joe has three kids under the age of 6. He enjoys being an active parent as much as possible. Picking up his kids from daycare and getting them settled in at home is the brightest part of his day. Ask anyone who went to Law School with him, late nights at the library in the basement was his 2nd home. ⭐️That dedication has never been lost. ⭐️

Sara values her Salon business and takes care of her growing clientele after she leaves the office every day. ✂️Shout out Hair by Sara. ✂️She also loves to travel, but doesn’t let that stop her from answering your call wherever she is.

Working remotely is feasible with the right systems in place, just because we aren’t in the office, does not mean we are not working.

‼️ This office runs effectively and efficiently. Your call will be returned, and you will be set for an appointment, if needed, within 48 hours. Your text will be answered within 48 hours. Your email will trigger a response within 48 hours.
