Family law affects the most personal parts of your life, and you shouldn’t face it alone. Florida’s legal system involves complex rules and requirements, especially when it comes to modifying agreements like child support. Having experienced legal guidance can make all the difference in navigating these challenges. Our firm is here to help, whether you're dealing with divorce, custody, or other family matters, including supporting our active duty military and veterans. TIME-SHARING/CUSTODY

Florida no longer uses the term "custody." Instead, parents are entitled to time-sharing with their children, either equally or with one parent having majority time-sharing. This arrangement not only shapes your relationship with your child but also affects child support. Our goal is to ensure your rights as a parent are protected. CHILD SUPPORT

Child support in Florida is a right that belongs to the child, ensuring both parents contribute to their financial well-being. The amount is based on both parents' combined income and child-related expenses. Whether you need to establish or modify child support, Bermudez Engel Law has the expertise to guide you through the process.

Childcare is not always just an extra expense.

If it is work-related, it may already be part of the child support calculation. That is where a lot of confusion starts.

The key is knowing what was included, how it was calculated, and what your order actually says. ⚖️

Because when the formula is misunderstood, the obligation usually is too.

“What happens if we never agree?” 👀

That’s usually when parents realize the parenting plan wasn’t written clearly enough.

Mutual agreement.
Reimbursement requests.
Deadlines.
Receipts.

Most co-parenting fights don’t start because parents hate each other.

They start because the order leaves too much open to interpretation. ⚖️

Parenting plans aren’t tested when parents agree.
They’re tested when they don’t.

If your order leaves room for constant arguments, the problem may not be communication.

It may be structure.

DM STRUCTURE and I’ll send you the language I use to make these provisions clearer.

As a family lawyer, I’ve heard it all before.

Divorce and custody cases come with questions about the house, the finances, the kids, the future, and sometimes, how to make the whole thing disappear.

I can’t be your realtor, therapist, private investigator, fortune teller, or magician, but I can guide you through the legal process with clarity and strategy.

DM us now to schedule a consultation.

“I thought they only had 30 days to reimburse me.” 👀

I hear that all the time.

But there is no automatic 30-day reimbursement rule in Florida family law.

The only deadline that matters is the one written in your court order. ⚖️

If your order doesn’t clearly explain:

- when receipts have to be sent
- when reimbursement is due
- or what happens if someone ignores the deadline

…that’s where reimbursement fights usually start.

DM DEADLINE and I’ll send you the language I use to make reimbursement terms clearer.

Summer camp can become a problem fast when the parenting plan is not clear. ☀️📩

A lot of orders cover timesharing, but stay vague on the details that actually create conflict later.

Who chooses it?
Who approves it?
Who pays?

That is where the fight usually starts. ⚖️

DM “CAMP” and get language that helps stop these summer issues before they start.

Today, we pause to remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to this country.

Memorial Day is a time for reflection, gratitude, and respect for the sacrifices that made so much possible.

Honoring their legacy today and always. 🇺🇸

“I sent the receipts.”
“Okay, but I’m not paying that.”

Medical expenses create more co-parenting conflict than most people expect. 💊

Copays. Braces. Therapy. Prescriptions.

Most parenting plans say those costs get split.
What they don’t explain clearly is:

how receipts are exchanged

when reimbursement is due

and what happens if someone ignores the deadline

Courts enforce the process written in the order. ⚖️

If your order doesn’t explain the process clearly, reimbursement turns into a fight.

DM MEDICAL and I’ll send you the language I use to make these provisions clearer.

People get way too stuck on the idea that 50/50 has to look one specific way.

It doesn’t.

That is the mistake.

A parenting schedule is supposed to work for the actual child, the actual age, and the actual rhythm of that family. Not for some generic idea people repeat online like it is the only option.

For some families, that might mean a 2-2-3.
For others, week-on, week-off makes more sense.

The point is not forcing a formula.
The point is building something that actually works in real life.

That matters.
Because when the structure fits the child, everybody has a better chance of succeeding with it.
