ICLS Executive Director, Tessie Solorzano, met with legal aid leaders from counties across the state last month in Ontario, CA for a convening of the California Project Directors Association who unite to provide free legal services to Californians most in need.

We were proud to host this year's meeting and to continue to serve Riverside and San Bernardino Counties in partnership with the brilliant county leaders coordinating to lift up civil legal aid statewide and meeting the diverse needs of their communities.

Together, we can create lasting change, build stronger communities, and ensure that no one navigates the legal system alone.

ICLS's Consumer Practice Group assembles again!

Thanks to these wonderful people, eligible clients who walk through our doors are able to get answers about their debt collection lawsuits and other consumer issues.

We love to see our band of debt-collection fighters keeping with tradition and coming together to celebrate each other and can't wait to highlight the next quarterly team meeting!

We at ICLS would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make our 2026 Advocates for Justice celebration a success.

Together, we raised nearly $250,000 to remove civil legal barriers for our neighbors in need, to help them live more stable, secure lives. Our supporters, sponsors, and partners showed up from every corner of the region, and our team at ICLS couldn't be more grateful.

More importantly, our clients will feel that impact when they come to ICLS for help with evictions, health care access, Gender Marker Name Changes, guardianship, small business assistance, and so much more.

For the past 30 years, the California Access to Justice Commission has helped Californians, regardless of income status or creed, understand their rights and how to use them to resolve their civil legal issues.

To celebrate thirty years of making legal resources and representation accessible to all Californians, we were invited to join the commission, their partners and colleagues, and advocates from across the state to reflect on the differences our collective efforts have made in the lives of those who have needed them most.

Thanks to our collaborative projects with the commission throughout the years, ICLS has been able to change the lives of dozens of small business owners, LGBTQIA+ community members, families impacted by disaster, and more as a result of the countless hours donated by volunteer advocates coming through the Pro Bono Portal. We are also now able to provide legal aid beyond our offices via our community legal education YouTube video series, co-created by a CalATJ partnership with Briefly.

Together, we are breaking down the barriers to fair and equal access to the justice system and fulfilling our commitment to meeting the civil legal needs of our community, every day, hour-by-hour! ⚖️

Last week, ICLS’s Advocates for Justice event brought together supporters from across the region to celebrate the impact of our volunteers and to raise critical funds for the civil legal services ICLS provides. In total, we raised nearly $250,000 thanks to the generosity of our donors, attendees, sponsors, and auction participants.

The night couldn’t have been possible without our sponsors, who are steadfast partners in our fight for equal access to justice. Our sponsors help us uplift our neighbors in need and remove barriers so they can live more stable, secure lives. We are so grateful for their contributions and dedication to ICLS’s mission.

It's 'sHIV/AIDSAwarenessDay and here at ICLS we are doing our part to help LGBTQ+ folx and people living with HIV (PLWH) understand their rights while navigating the healthcare system.

With gay and bisexual men accounting for 79.8% of new HIV diagnoses in the United States and dependent areas in 2024, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the need for affected community members in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties to gain access to comprehensive medical treatment is great, and, often times, challenging.
