This evening, the Madison County
Sheriff's Office's was made aware of a phone & email scam circulating within
Madison County that requests persons to immediately pay money for: Jury Duty, Warrants or Fines.

Currently, the phone scammer is using MCSO Sgt. Petry's name and a fake email address in order to obtain money from the citizens of Madison County.

REMINDER:
☎️📲 The Madison County Sheriff's Office and/or Deputies will not contact you and request money to be paid over the phone.

Please be aware of this scam. We have seen this in Madison County also.

A Lexington woman says returning a phone call almost caused her to be the victim of an elaborate hoax. Now, she's sharing her story in hopes of helping someone else.
