The RBA's Administration of Justice Committee kicked off the bar year by setting their sights on a busy calendar ahead! ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

This committee is the RBA's direct line to the Bench, meeting with Chief Judges across Richmond, Hanover, Chesterfield, and Henrico, plus our federal Bankruptcy and Eastern District of Virginia judges. Their visit summaries appear in The Richmond Lawyer, giving members an inside look at what's happening in our courts.

Additionally, the Committee takes on the work of putting together our new Judicial Brown Bag Lunches.

Thank you to the following committee members who share in this important work:
Rachel Adams (Chair), Brad Marrs (Chair-Elect), David Galeski, Jason Hart, Nadeem Bohsali, Clay Hester, Chris Hurley, Kasey Michelle, Scott Siegner, Meredith Haynes, Jed Donaldson, and Mary Fritz.

A special thank you to ThompsonMcMullan for hosting!

Firm Spotlight: Christian & Barton ๐ŸŽ‰

We're grateful to Christian & Barton for their continued support as an Annual Firm Sponsor of the RBA, and we're celebrating alongside them as they mark their 100th anniversary this year. Founded in Richmond in 1926, the firm has built a century-long legacy of trusted counsel and community leadership.

Christian & Barton's ties to the RBA run deep: FIVE of the firm's lawyers have served as president of the Richmond Bar Association over the years, and Belinda Jones currently serves as the RBA's Vice President.

Firm sponsorships like this one help make RBA events and programming possible for the entire membership.

Congratulations on 100 years, and thank you for investing in Richmond's legal community, Christian & Barton!

The Richmond Bar has a true powerhouse of a Pro Bono Committee!

The Committee gathered for their first meeting of the bar year earlier this summer to discuss all things pro bono in the Richmond community. They also planned a few signature events (and maybe one or two surprises!)๐Ÿ‘€

Thanks to Williams Mullen for hosting this crew at your office, and to our Committee members: Max So, Noah Sullivan, Taylor M. Sorrellsm Maisie Osteen, Tara Enix, Lisa Hedrick, Gibson Wright, Johanna Jenkins, David Tisel, Sophia Miller, Lynnie Brugh, Jeremy Williams, Will Egen

The group would not be complete without the hard work and representation from our community partners!

One of the RBAโ€™s greatest strengths is its ability to connect attorneys across practice areas that donโ€™t typically intersect.

Through sections, committees, events, and shared initiatives, the RBA helps break down silos and strengthen the broader legal community- fostering relationships that lead to collaboration, referrals, and professional growth.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Expand your professional network in meaningful ways.

Meet Amanda Bird-Johnson, caught in action at the Spring Cocktail Party. Each of our annual events has a Communications Committee member on hand to capture the moment, so you'll actually remember it later.
