What's wrong is always available. So is what's right.

If you ask someone what’s bothering them or what’s wrong, you’ll get just that, more of the problem.

If you ask, “What do you want?” or “How do you want to shift things?” you’ve redirected the focus from the problem to the solution.

In any situation — no matter how dismal — there’s a desirable outcome to be achieved. Ideally, a win-win. Your goal as a leader should be to interrupt the pattern of the problem, to pivot, and change the direction of your attention TOWARD THE SOLUTION and AWAY FROM THE PROBLEM.

You’ll solve problems by staying flexible enough to change, to adapt, to experiment, be playful, and to try something new.

The more flexible you are, the more options you create, the more doors open to you, and the more solutions you will create.
