PSA: The Tax "extension" you've been hearing about only applies to Disaster Area Taxpayers. For most of us, the deadline to file and pay our taxes is still April 18th! "The American Rescue Plan" has been signed by President Biden.. What now? If you have chosen to wait to file your 2020 Income Tax Return because you collected unemployment please be advised: There is still one more step after the signing of the bill. IRS has to make adjustments to the tax code as well as they system to be able to apply this change. We, at Jovee Services, will notify you when this happens. Please be patient, as we do not know how long this will take.

Lots of questions about the State Stimulus today. Here is the information for you to see if you qualify. This is an independent state stimulus, which means it will not be something you can claim on your 2020 Tax Return, but you do have to file your 2020 Tax Return by October 15th to qualify!

IR-2020-61, March 30, 2020 – The Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service today announced that distribution of economic impact payments will begin in the next three weeks and will be distributed automatically, with no action required for most people.
