“Two people were killed Sunday morning in a crash involving a semi-trailer and two passenger vehicles on U.S. 50 in Dayton, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol and Lyon County Sheriff's Office.

The crash happened about 7:20 a.m. at U.S. 50 and Traditions Parkway near Segale Road.

Authorities said the semi-trailer struck two passenger vehicles. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene, and another person with life-threatening injuries was flown to a local hospital.

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office said preliminary statements gathered at the scene suggest the driver of the semi-trailer may have fallen asleep before the crash.”
