Today’s DACA news is a predictable move to shore up DACA’s legal footing. Hopefully eligibility will be expanded through the regulatory process. For now, immigrant advocates need to be wary of increased scams because of the complicated procedure here.

Heartened by this show of support for refugee resettlement, but saddened that it is so case-specific to Afghan allies. It's a global version of common refrain: “I want strict borders, but my [gardener, etc.] is a good guy and should have his papers.”

A new NPR/Ipsos poll shows unusually wide support for resettling Afghans allies. Even many Republicans who favor tighter controls on immigration say the U.S. should help those who fled the Taliban.
