🚨 Public Service Announcement – Rental Fraud Alert 🚨
Attention renters and property owners: There has been fraudulent activity involving individuals falsely advertising properties for rent and requesting upfront payments for homes they do not own or represent.
One of my legitimate listings was recently used in this type of scam. These bad actors are misrepresenting themselves as authorized agents and attempting to collect deposits or fees under false pretenses.
Please be advised:
• Always verify the identity of the person listing the property
• Never send money without confirming ownership or proper representation
• Be cautious of requests for upfront payments, especially through non-secure methods
This matter has been reported to the Department of Real Estate and law enforcement authorities. Efforts are ongoing to prevent further fraudulent activity.
Stay vigilant and protect yourself from rental scams.
