This course will examine the responsibilities of retaining or preparing expert witnesses. We will provide suggestions on searching for and vetting a potential expert, deciding whether the expert will be a testifying or consulting expert, and preparing the expert for effective deposition and trial. We will also focus on practical and strategic considerations, while incorporating a discussion of the best use of experts.

Attorney Tyrell Clemons attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for undergraduate studies and then North Carolina Central University School of Law where he received his law degree. Mr. Clemons decided to follow his dream of starting his own law firm and he began The Clemons Law Firm. As an Ordained Minister, C.
