“Your mind plays an important role in your victory.” — Joyce Meyer

I really needed this reminder this morning.

I’m a worrier, and if I’m not careful, it’s very easy for me to go down the rabbit hole and start imagining the worst possible scenario—rehearsing the disaster in my mind before anything has even happened.

Something I heard in my devotional this morning reminded me to stop rehearsing what could go wrong and replace those thoughts with thanksgiving.

I needed that today. ❤️

I can’t always control what’s happening around me, but I can be intentional about what I allow my mind to dwell on.

So this Monday, I’m choosing gratitude over worry, trusting God with what I can’t control, and reminding myself that my mind really does play an important role in my victories.

Maybe someone else needed that reminder this morning, too. ❤️

Today Teddy Bear graduated from puppy class! 🐾

I have to admit…he is unlike any dog I’ve ever had. He’s incredibly loving, full of personality, very high energy, a little mischievous, and definitely keeps me on my toes! There have been more than a few days when I’ve wondered, “What were we thinking?” 😂

One thing I’ve learned is that while everyone loves puppies, not everyone realizes how much time, consistency, and commitment they require. If I want Teddy to become the wonderful companion I know he can be, I have to be willing to put in the work too. Training has been just as much about teaching me as it has been teaching him.

Today Teddy graduated from puppy class, and next week we begin intermediate training. Our hope is that one day Teddy can become a therapy dog. We have a long way to go, but today was a really good first step.

A heartfelt thank you to Barbie Phillips at PetSmart in The Colonies, Upland. Your passion for animals, your knowledge, and your unique ability to connect with each dog is truly a gift. Thank you for encouraging both Teddy and me every step of the way.

I’m grateful we stuck with it. On to intermediate class next week! ❤️🐶

One of my favorite parts of what I do is staying connected with amazing professionals who serve older adults and their families.

Today I stopped by Oakmont of Fullerton to reconnect with Pricilla Prera, whom I’ve known for several years. We first met at Oakmont of Chino Hills, and it was wonderful to see her again in her new role.

As Pricilla showed me around the community, one place immediately stood out to me—the outdoor patio. It felt peaceful, welcoming, and like a place where residents could truly enjoy each day. I could picture morning coffee, family visits, a good book, or simply enjoying a beautiful Southern California afternoon.

Before I left, I knew I had to share it with all of you. ❤️
