So for our practical considerations covid is over but everyone needs to continue being careful. Probably a good time as we have all lost someone during this pandemic, to think about our own estate planning, a simple will, or thorough trust. We learned through the pandemic that our office need only be open by appointment. Still freeze it it has it'll be fine we're generally staffed only part-time during the day and usually someone is there to answer the phone between 10 and 2. Please feel free to call for an appointment to discuss any legal need but at the same time be thinking about your estate planning needs for your your family's peace of mind.

Another sad day in court, representing some one who could easily have avoided legal problems by including their lawyer in the planning, before taking action. Our result was good, but the cost and grief could easily have been avoided.

Include your lawyer in business and real etate planning. If you do not already have a lawyer call us. Our few will be reasonable and usually well worth it in the end.

Another sad day here. Met with a beautiful family who own a beautiful home that's nearly paid for free and clear. THEY STILL HAD THE"VERY GOOD" Insurance, the the mortgage company "helped them get" when they their home.

A big problem finally arose after 30 years. Someone was injured on their property and that injury probably resulted from a defective condition on their property.

Were they surprised when their insurance agent told them they didn't have any coverage?

Turns out the mortgage company had help them put casualty loss coverage on their house. They had damage for fire wind water and other casualties that might hurt their buildings. BUT NOTHING TO COVER INJURIES TO A GUEST OR LIABILITY WHEN THAT GUEST SUES THEM AS A RESULT OF BEING INJURED THROUGH A DEFECT THAT WAS THE OWNER'S FAULT.

I'VE SAID IT A HUNDRED TIMES. Buying your home will be one of the most important purchases you make during your lifetime. Spend some time effort and even a little money if you have to and consult a good lawyer. Consult a good real estate agent or a good mortgage broker. we will all tell you the same thing. You need good homeowners coverage if you're going to own a home.

That is insurance protection for you just as much as it is protection for someone who might be injured on your property.

Well again it happened. Someone came to me two, years ago with a bad divorce going down the road out of control. It was a case that could have been handled but it was in a court far too distant from my home and my office so I offered solid advise on how to proceed. Roll forward and the case is no better off, still too far away from my office for my taste, and the case is such a mess I couldn't fix it now as easily as it could have been fixed two years ago. Moral of this story, start early in the case, get proper help then follow the advice you are paying to recieve

For 38 years now I've been practicing law, and certain things never fail to amaze me.
In fact I get distressed every time someone comes in to see me, and I realize that they are in trouble because they entered into an agreement, a settlement, a judgment, or a business contract that was definitely not in their best interest.

Please people, it's never as simple as here just sign here. Before you engage in any written agreement or contractual relationship that could have significant monetary impact on you or significant impact on your future, CONSULT YOUR ATTORNEY.

I often waive the initial consultation fee when I see a client because I want to guide them into what they need to do and quite a reasonable fee to provide that service to them. Then when they are ready I am ready.

I get very sad when someone comes in to see me, tells me their story and I have to start quoting my services by saying "my fee will be this much to attempt to undo the damage you've done by signing this agreement or that. then I have to tell them that if we can undo the damage here's what it's going to cost. They've usually compounded their problem by at least double.

Please folks before you sign a contract, before you commit large sums of money, or before you engage in any agreement without knowing fully what you're doing, PLEASE CONSULT YOUR ATTORNEY.. IF YOU DON'T HAVE AN ATTORNEY SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE US WE WOULD BE HAPPY TO REPRESENT YOU.
