One of the biggest mistakes people make is creating the trust and then failing to properly coordinate their assets with it.

A simple $5 payment can create more work than you might expect when dealing with an estate.

In this situation, the estate account had to be reopened, the executor paid $5 of their own money for a fee, and even though there was documentation showing the payment, the final accounting had to be redone to account for that $5 along with the attorney’s additional time.

It’s a good example of how even a small transaction can create extra steps, paperwork, and legal costs during the estate administration process.
