Raising the Standard—One Notary at a Time! 📚✍🏽

Today was an incredible first day at the Raising the Standard: A Notary Education Conference, hosted by the North Carolina Secretary of State.

As Vice President of the North Carolina Notary Association (NCNA) and a notary business owner, I believe that staying educated is not optional—it is part of our responsibility to the people we serve. Laws, procedures, technology, and best practices continue to evolve, and we must be willing to learn, grow, and keep raising the standard.

Today, I had the opportunity to participate in the eBridge Course and was also a part of the Notary Integrity Lab: “Real-World Scenarios and Compliance.”

And let me tell you… THE SKITS WERE EVERYTHING! 😂👏🏽

Our real-world scenarios brought notary compliance and integrity to life in a way that was both educational and engaging. The notaries loved them, and even the Secretary of State joined us in the skits! That made the experience even more memorable.

But beyond the laughter, today reinforced something important:

A good notary never stops learning.

The North Carolina Notary Association is committed to Promoting, Educating, and Advocating for notaries across our state. We believe in creating opportunities for notaries to learn, connect, encourage one another, and become better at what we do.

I am grateful to be in a position where I can continue learning while also helping other notaries grow. When one notary becomes better educated, our entire profession becomes stronger.

Today was just Day One, and I wouldn’t have changed a thing! 💚💛

🌞 Extreme Heat Alert! Stay Safe While You’re Out and About 🌞

To all of my fellow Mobile Notaries, signing agents, delivery drivers, real estate professionals, and everyone working outdoors—please take this extreme heat seriously.

💧 Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
🧢 Wear light-colored, breathable clothing and protect yourself from the sun.
🚗 Keep extra bottles of water in your vehicle.
⏰ If possible, schedule appointments during the cooler parts of the day.
🛑 If you begin to feel dizzy, weak, nauseous, or overheated, stop what you’re doing and find a cool place immediately.

As Mobile Notaries, we often travel from appointment to appointment, and our health is just as important as the service we provide. Let’s take care of ourselves so we can continue taking care of our clients.
