When you hear “independent senior living,” what do you picture?

Because this might not be it.

One thing I’ve really enjoyed while touring senior living communities is seeing just how comfortable and home-like the apartments can feel.

Your own living room. Your own bedroom. Your own bathroom. Your own private space to make feel like home — but with many of the everyday responsibilities of maintaining a house taken off your plate.

For someone who still values their independence but is ready for a simpler lifestyle, independent living may be worth exploring.

I’m learning more with every community I tour, and I have to say — senior living today looks a lot different than what many of us grew up imagining.

Did you know notary services are also part of what I offer through SIWA Solutions NC?

When you're helping an aging parent or managing a transition for someone you love, there can be a LOT of paperwork involved. Having access to a mobile notary can make at least one part of the process a little easier.

I provide mobile notary services by appointment for eligible documents and can travel to homes, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, senior living communities, workplaces, and other convenient locations.

I never imagined that my real estate career would eventually lead me here.

I genuinely loved traditional real estate sales. Helping people find a home, make a move, and begin a new chapter was something I took great pride in.

But then life became personal.

After losing my dad to cancer and watching my mom transition into long-term care, I experienced something that changed the way I looked at real estate—and at what families really need during times of transition.

Sometimes the “move” isn’t about buying or selling a house.

Sometimes it’s about finding the right place for Mom or Dad to live safely and comfortably.

It’s about understanding care needs, comparing options, navigating the questions, and making one of the hardest decisions a family may ever have to make.

That experience helped me realize that I could take the skills I’ve developed through real estate and use them in a different way.

So that’s what I’m doing.

Through SIWA Solutions NC, I help seniors and their families navigate senior living and care placement with compassion, guidance, and a personal understanding of what this journey can feel like.

This work is more than a business to me.

It’s personal. And it’s a way for me to serve families in a way I never expected, but now understand so deeply.

This isn’t me leaving real estate behind.

It’s me expanding the way I serve.
