Thank you, Sarah and Chewy.com. Customer service at its very best… In February we said goodbye to our beloved Carmel, and just this past Friday to his brother, our adored Polo.

This weekend I called Chewy.com, who we’ve been using for years, to let them know we would no longer need our autoships. Sarah was so kind. She took down all the information and assured me she would take care of everything. She also offered her sincerest condolences. She was so very genuine.

This afternoon flowers arrived at the house. Puzzled as to who would be sending us flowers, I couldn’t believe it when I read the card: “Sorry to hear of your loss. All of us here at Chewy are always here for you. Love, Sarah and Your Chewy Family.” Now that’s care, and the very best of customer service practices. Thank you, Sarah and Chewy. Should a pup be in our future 🐶, you have made lifetime customers out of us.

Never Forget: 9/11

A quarter century has passed since September 11, yet the weight of that day still makes it feel like yesterday etched in our hearts forever. Today, we honor the thousands of lives lost and hold close every family and friend who carries that loss with them.

On that day 25 years ago, my husband Dave and I were in Canada, Lake Louise specifically, on our way to Banff. Far from home, when we woke that morning we watched in disbelief alongside the rest of the world, feeling every emotion imaginable as we tried to process something none of us had ever experienced or could put into words.

The moment our Canadian hosts realized we were Americans, we were met with an outpouring of compassion, concern, and hospitality we will never forget. Strangers became family. Kindness became a lifeline.

Twenty-five years later, we carry that gratitude with us still, alongside a collective grief. Today and always, we remember those lost, and we hold onto the lesson that even in tragedy, humanity's capacity for compassion shines through.

Never forget.
