Have a living trust? You may still need a will.
A pour-over will acts as a safety net for a trust-based estate plan. It directs any property left in your own name, such as a new bank account, recently acquired assets, or personal belongings, into your trust after death so it can be distributed under the trust's terms. Because property passing under a pour-over will generally still goes through probate, keeping the trust properly funded during life remains important.
