Both arrived in the United States in 1960s, with hopes of building a better life for themselves in the U.S. Alex has worked exclusively in immigration law for seven years, primarily in litigation before the Immigration Court of New York, NY.

Alex is inspired by the life of his family, who achieved the American dream. He has found his purpose in devoting his career to helping more people establish their footprint in the United States. ¿Pero qué significa esto en términos simples?

Si un juez de inmigración decide que un solicitante de asilo no enfrentará persecución si es deportado, un tribunal federal solo puede revocar esa decisión si la evidencia obliga claramente a una conclusión diferente.

En otras palabras:

No basta con que el juez pueda estar equivocado. La evidencia debe demostrar que ningún juez razonable habría tomado esa decisión.

Por qué esto es importante para los solicitantes de asilo?

• Las apelaciones en tribunales federales ahora son mucho más difíciles de ganar.
• Las decisiones de los jueces de inmigración tienen aún más peso.
• La audiencia inicial de asilo se vuelve la etapa más importante del caso.
