I am a local real estate agent and had 56-year-old single woman Seller, who was moving out of state and had very little help available to her and even less financial resources to be able to get the house fully cleared out so it could be sold. I told her to take everything that she had the ability to take and to leave the rest, and we would get it handled. It ended up being so much more than I could handle on my own so I reached out to Scott Woodford at community fitness Alliance yesterday afternoon to ask for some help. When he sent out the call asking for volunteers, within 10 minutes he had five people willing and able to show up this morning at 9:00 am to finish the haul-out at this property. We only needed five, but it didn’t stop there. More volunteers were WILLING to step up to the plate as well, we just didn’t have enough work for more of them. We had one trailer to be sent for donation and one trailer to be sent to the dump, and they filled them both up in record time, then swept out the garage and we were done. These kids are hopeful, future firefighters and public servants, and the fact that they are willing to jump at a moments notice to help a stranger says something about who they are and what they’re made of. Hopefully we will see them down the road in a blue shirt ready to answer the call when the lights come on at the fire station when you or somebody in your community needs help. Thank you to Izabella, Cameron, Riley, Levi, and Cason and everybody at CFA for all the good work you’re doing to make the world a better place! 💪🏼👊🏼🙌🏼🙏🏼
