☕️ North Port is getting a 7 Brew!

A new commercial construction application has been filed with the City of North Port for a 7 Brew Coffee Shop at 1291 S. Sumter Blvd.

The permit application was opened June 18, 2026, putting the new drive-thru coffee shop right around the Cocoplum/Sumter Boulevard area.

There isn’t a confirmed opening date that I can substantiate yet, but permitting is officially underway — which means I’ll be watching this one as construction progresses. 👀

You’ve all been asking, so I finally dug up the answer on what’s replacing the old gas station by the Salvation Army. 👀

That remodel at 1002 S. Tamiami Trail is becoming a Goldflower medical dispensary (same company with locations in Bradenton, Cape Coral, and Bonita Springs) — still listed as “coming soon” with no official open date yet, though the project’s been in the works since 2024.

🚧 Wondering what they’re building behind Wendy’s on 41 in North Port? Here’s your answer!

Benderson Development is actively moving forward with a major expansion of Cocoplum Village Shops, with approvals allowing for approximately 136,000 square feet of additional commercial space.

The City of North Port also recorded a new commercial permit in June for the “Cocoplum Core & Shell” project at 17179 Tamiami Trail, and the expansion is currently targeting Fall 2026.

The really interesting part? We still don’t have a complete confirmed list of the new stores and restaurants coming into the expansion. 👀 So I’ll be keeping a very close eye on this one.
