After three wonderful years as part of our dedicated team, we are saying farewell as Neva Lucero begins an exciting new chapter: Law school!⚖️🎓

During her time with us, she discovered her true passion for criminal defense while helping our team advocate for and fight for our clients. What began as an undergraduate position as a case assistant has now grown into a dream of becoming a criminal defense attorney.

We are incredibly proud of how far she has come and so grateful to have been a part of her journey. We will miss you dearly, but we cannot wait to see all that you accomplish! We will be cheering you on every step of the way. 🤍⚖️

Here are Kristi Martel Law, LLC, we specialize in criminal defense, and are happy to refer civil cases to attorneys who handle that kind of work, so that you are represented well in whatever area of law you need help with. Let’s break down the differences between the two.

Understanding Mitigation: How Proactive Steps Can Influence Your Case

When you’re facing a criminal case, it can feel like everything is already decided. It’s not. What you do during your case can meaningfully impact the outcome—and that’s where mitigation comes in. At Kristi Martel Law, LLC, our team works closely with our clients to develop compelling mitigation with and for our clients.

Mitigation isn’t about making excuses. It’s about showing the court who our client is, beyond the charge they may be facing. We highlight our client’s efforts, progress, background, history, and commitment to change. Judges notice that. Prosecutors notice that. And just as importantly, it gives our clients an opportunity to positively impact the progress of their case.
