Somehow I have no words and too many words to express the feelings I have surrounding this home sale.
I met my client in 2013 or 2014 during an earlier incarnation of my life as a yoga teacher. She attended classes regularly at the wonderful South Mountain Yoga and I got to know her capacity to commit to her practice, her intelligence approaching both the physical and mental aspects of it, and the heart that brought her to her mat through incredibly challenging times.
Life happened in both major and minor ways since the day she invited me over to her home when she first considered selling in 2015; the home she moved into in 1997 as a young mother with her husband and new baby.
But the time wasn’t right to sell back in 2015, or the years following. Over those years she tended to her home with great intention, both for herself and for the future owners. She kept in regular contact with me, providing updates on whichever home project she was enmeshed in. One time we met at a cafe and cried about the loss in our lives.
Come 2026, she was ready to move on to her next chapter in Brooklyn; reversing the path that so many tread.
Here’s the part where I have no words. I’ll just leave space.
I look forward to visiting her in her new home, having dinner together, reminiscing, laughing at bygone obstacles, and toasting the broad scope of life.
