If you have a kit or manage kits on GEDmatch, make sure you log in and look at the updated Terms of Service. When GEDmatch was purchased yesterday, the site was locked down from use until you make a choice to agree to the ToS or delete all of your kits at once. You have a choice to "wait to decide" but there is no indication how long that window will be open.

I'm curious what kind of issues might arise as this genetic genealogy case goes to court. Should there be credentialing for this kind of high-stakes work? I am wondering if the "relative" whose kit was used will be unmasked as part of the court record. And I am curious how defense attorneys might try to discredit this frontier science. Any thoughts?

Jury selection was delayed by about a week for defendant William Talbott, over his objection.
