SCOTUS today overrules Teague v Lane, to say that there can be no new rule of criminal procedure so important that is should apply retroactively. In doing so, the court blesses all the non-unanimous jury verdicts that were upheld on past appeals, before the Ramos decision recognized that all guilty verdicts must be unanimous under the Constitution. Edwards v Vannoy is bad law.
