One of the reasons we're proud to partner with Portland Hearts of Pine is that the club has always been about more than soccer. They've built a community around optimism, hard work, and the belief that meaningful things happen when people come together around a shared purpose.

Inspired by that vision, we gathered a group of leaders from the region at a Hearts match last week for the inaugural meeting of Bernstein Shur's “Changemakers Society.” The Changemakers Society brings together people who share a commitment to strengthening the communities where they live and work. Although we come from different industries and backgrounds, we’re united by a belief that meaningful change begins when people choose to get involved rather than stand on the sidelines. The palpable energy throughout the night was the perfect beginning to even more positive momentum that we’ll build by becoming even stronger collaborators with one another.

We're grateful to everyone who joined us on a beautiful Maine summer evening and helped make this first gathering such a success. A special thank you to Gabe Hoffman-Johnson and Kevin Schohl for their continued dedication to the mission and vision of the Portland Hearts of Pine.

Up the Hearts! ❤⚽

For this year's Manchester-based Day of Service, our team spent the day supporting two incredible organizations making a difference in our community: Harbor Care and Easterseals New Hampshire.

At Harbor Care, we refreshed living spaces for veterans by painting walls at Independence Hall in Manchester. At Easterseals NH, we helped organize more than 400 bags for the upcoming HK Powersports Poker Run for Easterseals NH & VT, an event that raises more than $150,000 to support Easterseals programs.

A sincere thank you to both Harbor Care and Easterseals NH for welcoming us and for the inspirational work you do every day.

We're grateful for the opportunity to give back alongside organizations that make such a meaningful impact! 💙

We’re growing in the Granite State.

We’re excited to announce our new office in downtown Concord, New Hampshire, opening this July. Located directly across from the State House at 2 Eagle Square, this new location expands our presence in New Hampshire and reinforces our continued commitment to serving clients throughout the state.

Complementing our Manchester office, our Concord location will support attorneys and professionals across a range of practices, with a particular focus on Government & Public Affairs—enhancing our ability to support clients engaging with state government and policy—and Bernstein Shur Strategic Economic Solutions, which parters with organizations on economic development, strategic planning, and public-private initiatives.

With strong roots established in Manchester, we’re proud to continue expanding our reach across New Hampshire. We look forward to strengthening our relationships with clients, community leaders, and partners in the state capital!

⚾ Summer officially arrived at Bernstein Shur last week!

We headed to Hadlock Field for our annual “Welcome to Summer” gathering, and it was a picture-perfect evening of baseball, sunshine, and good company.

The Portland Sea Dogs delivered plenty of excitement with a 10–7 victory, but the real highlight was spending time together outside the office and kicking off the season with colleagues, family, and friends.

Here’s to summer in Maine and making the most of it! ☀️

We’re thrilled to announce that Bernstein Shur is now the Official Law Firm and Dirigo Partner of Portland Hearts of Pine!

From the beginning, this partnership felt like a natural fit.

Hearts of Pine has quickly become more than a soccer club, building an incredible movement around optimism, ambition, community, and pride of place—values that strongly resonate with our firm and our people.

Established in Portland in 1915, Bernstein Shur was founded with a mission to strengthen communities and help businesses grow. More than a century later, that commitment continues to shape who we are, how we serve our clients, and how we show up for the region we call home.

We’re especially excited to support Hearts of Pine’s continued growth and community engagement efforts across Northern New England, while also helping spotlight nonprofit organizations making a meaningful impact throughout the region.

Thank you to the Hearts of Pine team for the partnership, energy, and shared vision for what’s possible here in Northern New England.

Up the Hearts! ❤️⚽

Our Portland and Manchester offices kicked off the holiday season with a pair of Thanksgiving potlucks that brought the whole firm together, providing a moment to pause, share a meal, and celebrate what we’re grateful for after an exciting year.

As part of our Giving Campaign, team members took part in a new tradition: paying $2 to buy a small rubber duckie and pairing it with a handwritten note of gratitude for a colleague, with all proceeds benefitting Families in Transition and Good Shepherd Food Bank.

We’re grateful for the people who make this firm what it is and for the communities in which we're proud to work. Wishing everyone a warm, joyful, and restorative Thanksgiving holiday! 🦃🧡🦆
