*Interior design tips for fall 2026*... and neither of them is what you'd expect:
đ Wallpaper is back in a serious way. Not the busy floral stuff from decades ago. Instead, opt for grasscloth, soft botanical prints, and textured finishes that mimic plaster or linen. Adding it to one wall is enough, since it adds depth that paint alone cannot.
đ Change your light bulb đĄ color temperature for fall. As daylight hours shorten and evenings arrive earlier, lighting has the biggest impact on mood and atmosphere of any design element. Most people have bulbs that run cool and bright, which feels clinical once natural light drops. Swapping to warm white bulbs (look for 2700K on the package) costs about $10 and makes a room feel completely different by October.
The bigger theme in design right now: homes are becoming warmer, more layered, and focused on personality rather than following a prescribed look. Less showroom, more lived-in.
