I want to thank everybody who has been following my fight and supporting what I have been doing. Especially the mothers and families with someone behind those walls. I appreciate every message, every share and every person who has reached out asking how they can help.

I need you to understand how important this is for the families. I didn’t wait for funding to start doing the work. I used my own money to publish Legal Mail Window and Hidden Victims. I have spent countless hours in the law library helping people with their cases, researching issues and fighting for your sons because I know what it feels like to be the son sitting on the other side of that wall hoping somebody out here hasn’t forgotten about you.

There is proof behind what I do. I fought for myself, and when I got in a position to help somebody else, I kept fighting. I wrote Legal Mail Window for the people behind the walls and Hidden Victims because I finally understood that while the son is fighting on the inside, his mother is fighting a completely different battle on the outside.

Now I am trying to build something bigger through the LMW Justice Education Initiative, and I can’t continue carrying all of it by myself.

A lot of mothers have asked me, “How can we help?”

This is how.

Today I had the opportunity to sit down with George Metcalf at the St. Lucie County Law Library, someone whose advice and guidance have been invaluable to me throughout this journey. What started with me learning the law from inside a prison cell to fight for my own freedom has grown into a much larger purpose. Through Legal Mail Window, Hidden Victims, and the LMW Justice Education Initiative, I am taking what I lived through and using it to educate others, advocate for people trying to navigate the legal system, bring attention to the mothers and families who suffer alongside their incarcerated loved ones, and create opportunities for second chances and successful reentry. George has been one of the people willing to share his knowledge and help me understand how to turn experience into something that can truly serve the community. The books tell where I have been, but the work we are building now is about where we are going. This is bigger than my story. The goal is to turn everything I learned through struggle, incarceration, litigation, victory, and rebuilding my life into something that can open doors for the people coming behind me. We are building the foundation now, and there is much more to come.

So this is what the final boss looks like?….this was who I had to make a way up to and held the decision?

I remember July 7, 2025 when I filed the initial petition to the courts… I wrote it up in the Law library next-door to the courthouse and walked over to the clerks… In order to sue the state you have to serve them like how any other summons get served face-to-face, or a police officer… I decided to go and serve them face-to-face so when I handed the paperwork to the clerk… she looked at me… Looked back at the paperwork, looked back at me… And as she shuffle the paperwork, she said:

“You know the State hates to lose right? If I were you I would get a lawyer”.

Little did she know I was turned down by every lawyer… none of them ever did this before they didn’t even know where to begin…but thru prayer and faith I trusted God…He ordered my steps…. it was a long and hard fight… Now it’s over…

Now the door is open for those wrongfully convicted to be able to be compensated for what the State did to them… once you understand the system you will finally see how much of a gold mine, the penal system is… The intention is not to rehabilitate… $116 billion per year to be exact.

The best was thrown at me and I got through it all… Now they putting me through school… this is where I developed the necessary tools to educate the others that was also done the same way …

This is just the beginning

Like my man Jahmarley once said in the holding cell waiting for court: “we are Unbreakable.”

I never forgot those words.

BE CAREFUL WHO YOU PAY TO “ASSESS” YOUR LOVED ONE’S CASE

I keep seeing services on Facebook targeting families with incarcerated loved ones. They charge people $300, $400, sometimes $500 just to “assess” a case and tell the family whether they believe it has merit. Then, if they think something is there, they tell you to go hire an attorney.

Some make it very clear that they are not lawyers and are not providing legal advice. That disclaimer may protect them legally..but it does not automatically mean the person reviewing your loved one’s case has meaningful legal experience.

Before you hand somebody hundreds of dollars, ask yourself: What have they actually done? What cases have they fought? What results have they produced? Have they ever had to sit in a prison law library and fight for their own freedom?

I did.

I fought my case PRO SE from inside prison and successfully overturned a conviction. My appellate case became part of Florida case law. Years later, I represented myself again and successfully pursued compensation from the State of Florida. I have written and published Legal Mail Window, an autobiography explaining that journey and what I learned navigating the legal system.

Today, I spend five days a week in my local law library helping people research their cases, understand court records, identify issues, and figure out what questions they need to be asking. I also wrote Hidden Victims: The Silent Strength of Mothers With Incarcerated Sons because I know the people suffering on the outside matter too.

I am not an attorney, and I will never pretend to be one. There are things only a licensed attorney should do. But there is a major difference between a disclaimer and actual experience.

Anybody can take your paperwork, feed information into artificial intelligence, print out an analysis, and call it an “assessment.” AI can be a powerful research tool..I use technology too..but the value comes from knowing what you are looking at, what questions to ask, what the record means, and where the analysis can go wrong.

Families of incarcerated people are already scared, desperate, and financially stretched. They deserve more than somebody capitalizing on that desperation.

So before you send $300 or$500 to somebody on Facebook, **check their credentials. Check their experience. Check their results. Ask them what qualifies them to touch something as important as your loved one’s freedom.**

If you are going to spend your money, spend it with someone who can show you more than a disclaimer and a computer-generated report.

Lived experience matters. Proven results matter. Integrity matters.

Nobody buying your book?
Here's how it usually goes...
1. Write a book.
2. Figure out how to publish it.
3. Spend a month planning your launch.
4. Sell 3 copies… then nothing.
5. Beg all your friends to buy it.
6. Click “refresh” on your sales dashboard 1,627,562 times.
7. Still no sales.
8. Freak out.
9. Spend the weekend crying and eating Ben & Jerry’s.
10. Read the entire internet and sort through all the conflicting publishing advice.
11. Decide to follow the “Top 837 Ways to Market your Book.”
12. Hustle your brains out.
13. Sell five more copies.
14. Despair.
