Proud to announce that SB 1602, our Housing for Veterans bill, was signed into law by the Governor.

I’m proud to work with Rep. Rosenwald and Sen. Wright to expand access to safe, stable housing for veterans by encouraging more landlords to participate in the HUD‑VASH program. This pilot in Broward, Escambia, Hillsborough, and Santa Rosa Counties is a meaningful step toward ending veteran homelessness and helping those who served our country regain their footing.

Voters Moved to Inactive Status Due to List Maintenance

Has Your Address Changed Since the Last Election?

The St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections Office announced the completion of its annual voter registration list maintenance program. As part of this process 520 voters have been moved from active status to inactive eligible status, 2,853 address confirmations were mailed to registered voters from change-of address information supplied by the United States Postal Service. Voters who did not respond to the notice within 30 days were moved to the inactive eligible list. It is important to note that these voters have not been removed from the voter registration system.

Voters can be restored to active status by confirming their current address through multiple methods such as, updating their voter registration record by calling the office, requesting a vote-by-mail ballot online at www.stlucievotes.gov, by appearing to vote at an Early Voting site or at their assigned precinct on Election Day.

Gertrude Walker, Supervisor of Elections stated, “I encourage all voters to keep their address updated and regularly check the status of their voter registration to remain an active voter. “

Annual List maintenance was performed on May 20, 2026, in accordance with Florida Statute 98.065, which requires specific actions to maintain the accuracy and integrity of voter registration records. Voters can check their record by visiting the St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections website at www.stlucievotes.gov or by calling 772-462-1500.

SHARE THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

SCAM ALERT: FAKE JURY DUTY WARRANT CALLS

These scams are reaching an alarming level in our community, and citizens are losing hundreds of thousands of dollars to criminals pretending to be law enforcement officers or court officials.

Scammers are again calling residents claiming they missed federal jury duty and now have a warrant for their arrest. They demand immediate payment using gift cards, cryptocurrency, wire transfers, payment apps, or even in-person cash pickups to “avoid arrest.”
THIS IS A FRAUD.

No legitimate law enforcement agency or court will ever call you demanding money to avoid being arrested.

These scammers are extremely convincing. They may spoof real phone numbers, use the names of actual judges or deputies, and create fear and urgency to pressure victims into paying immediately.

If you receive one of these calls:• Hang up immediately• Never provide personal or financial information• Never send money or meet anyone to deliver payment• Never allow anyone to come to your home to collect money

The Sheriff’s Office has worked tirelessly to educate the public, but these scams continue to target our citizens every day, especially seniors.

This weekend alone more than $40,000 of citizens hard earned money was lost due to these scams.

Please help us spread this warning. Share this information with family members, friends, neighbors, and senior citizens. Discuss it at HOA meetings, churches, community groups, and on social media.

The more people who hear about this the fewer victims these criminals will claim.
