IYKYK. If you know me, you know a couple things: 1) I am not a social media poster, particularly regarding my personal life; 2) my oldest niece, Briana, is EVERYTHING in my eyes. I promised her and others that she will never go without support if I am alive, and even when I am not, she will still have my financial support and be able to hear me cheering her on. She is my GIRL! We moved her to Nashville less than 10 months ago and she just earned a Master of Health Sciences degree. Briana is smart, kind, personable, hardworking, funny, loving, and loyal. She will be nothing shy of great because she has finally realized just how amazing she is. She has always had all the tools! Briana gave a speech at the graduate awards ceremony at and said “If your next step doesn’t scare you, it isn’t big enough.” She is HER and she begins dental school 🦷 this summer. An 8-day trial in federal court ended with the jury determining that Amtrak failed to provide adequate security to our client, who was shot and killed by a stranger onboard the train. After the shooting, passengers reported hearing gunshots to personnel, but the train left the station and travelled to the next stop with our client on it. Despite its “no guns” policy, Amtrak failed to conduct any active screening for weapons being carried by passengers. The jury awarded $158M to the victim’s wife and children.

On March 15, 2023, Danielle Jones was enjoying a Mom’s Night with friends in Dallas, TX. She was an innocent bystander who should not have lost her life to this preventable violence. It is Mother’s Day and my heart is with my client. Pauletta Johnson buried her only son yesterday because a police officer shot and killed an unarmed, 25-yr-old Amaree’ya Henderson at a traffic stop while she watched on FaceTime and his girlfriend witnessed it from the passenger seat. He had just finished his last DoorDash delivery of the evening.

was shot and killed by a Kansas City police officer at a traffic stop. He had just finished his last DoorDash delivery of the evening. He was unarmed and sitting in the driver’s seat. His girlfriend watched in horror from the passenger seat and his mother watched and listened on FaceTime as the officer escalated the situation. Amaree’ya told the officer and his mother that he was afraid. He had good reason to be.
